HomelandHolocaust & Armenian Genocide Memorial In Yerevan Has Been Vandalized.

Earlier Today, the memorial to victims of the Jewish Holocaust and Armenian Genocide in Yerevan was vandalized.

The memorial consists of two pillars, with “To Live and Not Forget: To the Memory of the Victims of the Genocides of the Armenian and Jewish Peoples” written in Armenian on the right pillar and in Hebrew on the left pillar. Police are currently investigating the desecration.

Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan condemned the desecration in a Facebook post. “Encroachment on any monument is a completely unacceptable and is a condemnable act that should be excluded from our city,” Marutyan said.

“Representatives of different nationalities have lived side by side in Yerevan for centuries, proudly bearing the honorable title of being a citizen of Yerevan along with their nationality, and no motive can undermine that solidarity. I hope the law enforcement agencies will respond quickly and adequately,” he added.
