Today, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, appointed His Eminence Archbishop Barkev Martirosyan to serve as a Pontifical Legate with special commitments, completing his duties as the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, informs the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Archbishop Barkev Martirosyan has been serving as Primate of the Artsakh Diocese since 1989.

Karekin II also appointed His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan to serve as the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, completing his duties as the Head Chaplain of the Armed Forces Ministry of the Republic of Armenia.
