HomelandGlobal IssuesREPORT: Additional 20 Russian military aircrafts (Il-76 & An-124) arrive in Armenia.

Another 18 Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces with peacekeepers on board landed at the airfields in Yerevan. This was reported to journalists on Monday at the Russian Defense Ministry, per Russia’s TASS news agency.

“Another 18 Il-76 aircraft and two An-124 Ruslan aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Aerospace Forces of Russia with equipment and personnel of the 15th peacekeeping brigade sent to Armenia to participate in the peacekeeping operation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict landed at the airfields of Yerevan. Russian servicemen unloaded materiel, weapons and military equipment, “the message says.

The military department added that during the day, Russian Aerospace Forces planes delivered 58 pieces of equipment to Armenia: armored personnel carriers, off-road trucks, tank trucks, excavators, and other logistics equipment.

The transfer of Russian peacekeepers to the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is proceeding in accordance with the agreements recorded on November 9 in a joint statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on a complete ceasefire in Karabakh. It is assumed that a total of 1,960 military personnel with equipment will be deployed there. The command post of the peacekeeping operation is deployed in Stepanakert.
