On July 18, at around 2 p.m., 20-year-old Armenian Soldier Alik Norayr Manukyan was found with a gunshot would, per Shushan Stepanyan, Spokesperson for the Defense Ministry of Armenia on Facebook.
Manukyan died on the way to the hospital from the Vayots Dzor Base. An investigation is underway.
The Ministry of Defense expresses deep condolences to Alik Norayr Manukyan’s family members, relatives and colleagues.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Sixth Garrison Investigation Division of the Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee in accordance with Article 360.1 of the RA Criminal Code (causing a serviceman to commit suicide by negligence).
