Today, the Republic of Armenia confirmed 350 new coronavirus cases and 6 new deaths, on Tuesday, June 9, taking the total number of cases to 13,675, per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.
0ut of the 13,675 total cases, 4,451 people recovered (352 Today) and 217 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 8,933 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. To date, 71,405 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan.
The 212th – 217th fatalities were 783 (female), 61 (male), 75 (female), 46 (male), 59 (male) and 79 (male) years old. All had pre-existing chronic diseases. 2 cases of death were registered yesterday when the patients tested positive for COVID-19, but the cause of death was another disease. The total of such cases is 74.
Yesterday, PM Nikol Pashinyan announced that 58% of COVID-19 deaths are men, 42% women.
Today, Armenia ranked 22nd in the world in the amount of new coronavirus cases, and 23rd in the world in the amount of new deaths, per Worldometers.
Today, Armenia ranked 19th in world in the number of people infected with COVID-19 per one million inhabitants. There are 4,615 cases of this infection per one million residents in Armenia, and the absolute number of infected people. The death toll in Armenia, on the other hand, is 217, which is 36th in the world per one million inhabitants.
