Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, the leader of Armenian chess, started his campaign at the Clutch Chess International online rapid chess tournament with a win.

In the quarterfinals, his opponent is GM Alexander Grischuk (Russia), and Aronian defeated him in six games.

Aronian and Grischuk will play six more games, to advance to the semifinals.

The prize fund of Clutch Chess International is 265 thousand US dollars.
