Today, the Republic of Armenia confirmed 112 new coronavirus cases and 1 new death, on Tuesday, May 5, taking the total number of cases to 2,619, per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.

Out of the 2,619 total cases, 1,111 people recovered (40 Today) and 40 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 1,462 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. To date, 25,846 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan.

The 40th COVID-19 fatality was a 69-year-old female with pre-existing chronic diseases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.

Today, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan announced that 3 recovered coronavirus patients in Armenia have tested positive again after a full making a full recovery from the disease. None of the three patients have any symptoms or complaints, but they were diagnosed with COVID-19 two weeks after being discharged from hospital. They are again quarantined in an effort to prevent the potential spread of the virus, Torosyan added.
