Today at around 7:05 p.m. Private of the Artsakh Defense Army Taron Poghosyan (born in 1988) stationed in the southern direction, died from a landmine explosion, per the Ministry of Defense of Artsakh.

Investigation into the details of the incident is under way. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh shares the grief and expresses its solidarity with the family, relatives and fellow servicemen of the deceased serviceman.

He was married and had three little children, per Sargis Abrahamyan, head of the Vosketap village of Ararat Province of Armenia, via News.Am. “Taron had graduated from the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University and was a Major. When the villagers said an officer had died, we knew it was him,” Abrahamyan added.
