DiasporaPM Nikol Pashinyan & President Ilham Aliyev Spar Over Artsakh In Munich.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participate in a panel discussion dedicated to Nagorno Karabakh on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Main points from the remarks of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the “An update on Nagorno-Karabakh” event on margins of Munich Security Conference:

1. Nagorno-Karabakh gained its independence the same way as Azerbaijan did.

2. Nagorno-Karabakh is a party to the conflict and to the negotiations, it is impossible to resolve the conflict without negotiating with Nagorno-Karabakh.

3. It is not a matter of territories but security. Nagorno-Karabakh cannot compromise its security.

4. It is impossible to resolve the conflict with one or two moves: “micro revolutions”, then “mini revolutions” are needed, which will lead to a breakthrough.

5. Any solution to the issue must be acceptable to the people of Armenia, people of Nagorno-Karabakh and people of Azerbaijan. Both Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh are ready to make serious efforts to find such a solution. Similar willingness must also be demonstrated by Azerbaijan.

6. There is no military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. If anyone claims there is a military solution, then the response of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh can be: “In that case the conflict has long been resolved.”
