On Thursday, March 25, Azerbaijani Soldiers began threw stones at Armenian civilian cars on the Sarushen-Karmir Shuka road in Artsakh’s Askeran Region, informs the Police of the Republic of Artsakh.

Hunan Tadevosyan, the Spokesperson for Artsakh’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, said Azerbaijani soldiers were being accompanied by Russian peacekeepers when they began throwing the stones at the Armenian cars at around 1:30 pm on Thursday.

“One of the cars driving on the road was able to dodge the stones, while the one in the back was not. The locals immediately blocked the road, and the commanders of the Russian peacekeepers and the Azeris came out and apologized,” Tadevosyan said.

“The Russian commander took the driver’s information and promised compensation,” added Tadevosyan.

The post runs as follows,

“Yesterday, at around 1:30 pm, an incident took place between Armenians and “Azeris” on the Sarushen-Karmir village road in the Askeran region.

From the body of the Azeri convoy accompanied by the Russian peacekeeping forces, the Azeri servicemen hit the Armenian cars on the same road with stones, as a result of which the windshield of the VAZ 21-07 car driven by Lendrush Babayan was damaged.

After the incident, L. Babayan, another driver on the same road, blocked the interregional road, stopped the column, demanded an explanation from the Russian peacekeepers as well as from the responsible Azeri officer.

According to L. Babayan, the Azeri officer, who did not speak Russian properly, took a photo of the car, promised to report it to his superior, and the Russian escorts apologized for the incident, noting that the damage would be compensated.

To find out all the details of the incident, the victim was interrogated at the Askeran Regional Police Department. The Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Sargsyan has already handed over the photos of the car, as well as the explanation in Russian translation to General Muradov.

The peacekeeping force is already dealing with this issue. According to the Russian side, the problem is not only to compensate the damage, but also to exclude such cases from now on.”
