Today, the Republic of Armenia reported its 12th fatality from the coronavirus 25 days after declaring a state of emergency to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 11th death was a 72-year-old man has died on Thursday night of the coronavirus at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan, he suffered from pre-existing medical conditions such as double pneumonia, he also had chronic diseases, including hypertension and prostate adenoma, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. The 12th death was a 81-year-old man also has died on Thursday night of the coronavirus, he had serious underlying health conditions, per Nikoghosyan.

The Republic of Armenia has confirmed 16 new coronavirus cases, on Thursday, April 10, now standing at 937, per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.”¨-
Out of the 937 total cases, 149 people recovered and 12 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 776 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. To date, 5,160 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan.

180 out of Armenia’s 776 active coronavirus patients are suffering from pneumonia, per Arsen Torosyan, Minister of Health.

Today, Torosyan announced that the Ministry of Health of Armenia will propose the government to extend the state of emergency for another month. The country first declared a 30-day state of emergency on March 16, and restricted the movement inside the country by April 12. He said the decision is very important for stopping the spread of the virus and promised to provide more details soon.
