The Republic of Armenia has confirmed 20 new coronavirus cases, on Tuesday, April 7, now standing at 853 per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.”¨-“¨Out of the 853 total cases, 87 people recovered and 8 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 758 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. To date, 4,287 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan. 25 more patients have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total to 87 recoveries, added Torosyan.

Today, The Republic of Artsakh confirmed its 1st coronavirus case, on Tuesday, April 7, in a citizen returning from Armenia, per the Artsakh Information Headquarters. The patient was taken by ambulance to Kashatagh hospital and isolated on April 2, since he had returned to Artsakh from one of the “centers of outbreak” in Armenia. The second citizen was their relative, who was taken to the same medical center on April 4 with symptoms of bronchitis. They lived in the Armenian village of Mirik, all 17 people who he had contact with were required to self-isolate. None show symptoms of COVID-19.

Today, the Republic of Armenia conducted 211 coronavirus tests, 20 of which came back positive and 191 negative.

“This is the first time that the number of confirmed cases is less than the number of citizens who have recovered,” said Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia. “By the end of the week, we will be able to conduct a thousand tests a day,” he added.
