On November 12, 2025, Armenia issued a new postage stamp dedicated to the theme “Prominent Armenians: 100th Anniversary of Ofelya Hambardzumyan”, honoring the legendary Armenian singer and People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR on the centennial of her birth.
Ofelya Hambardzumyan (1925–2016) is recognized as one of Armenia’s most distinguished vocalists. Renowned for her rich voice and masterful performances, Hambardzumyan’s contributions have left an enduring mark on Armenian music and cultural heritage.
The new postage stamp, with a nominal value of 320 AMD, features Hambardzumyan’s portrait along with the inscriptions “OFELYA HAMBARDZUMYAN” and “ARMENIAN SINGER” in both Armenian and English.
The stamp was officially cancelled by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia Daniel Danielyan; Chief Executive Officer of “Haypost” CJSC Shushan Aleksanyan; member of the Board of “Haypost” CJSC Karen Margaryan; and President of the Philatelists’ Armenian Association Hovik Musayelyan.
