Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the former captain of the Armenian national football team and Inter Milan midfielder, has received the Gentleman Inter prize. The Armenian international was honored during the 30th edition of the Premio Gentleman, accompanied by his wife.

The annual event dedicated to fair play took place at the prestigious Scuola Militare Teulié, and Inter was the star of the show, collecting several major prizes. Among the honorees was President and Chairman Giuseppe Marotta, who accepted the Gentleman Executive award, introduced for the 30th edition to recognize figures who have stood out over the past three decades, Inter’s press service reported.

“I’m happy and honored, and I want to thank everyone who voted for me. This is an honor, thank you very much. An award that reflects who I am? I don’t try to be that way, it’s just how I carry myself. Maybe it’s down to my character, but that’s not for me to say,” the club quoted Mkhitaryan as saying at the event.

Other honorees included Carlos Augusto, who received the Young Breakthrough award; Nicolò Barella, awarded Best Goal for his left-footed volley from the edge of the box against Atalanta; and Vice President Javier Zanetti, honored with a Lifetime Gentleman award. Captain Lautaro Martinez was named Gentleman Serie A for the second consecutive year.
