Greta Thunberg is in Yerevan, Armenia, where she recently joined a panel discussion at the American University of Armenia.

Thunberg declined to attend COP29 in Azerbaijan, calling out Azerbaijan’s actions against Armenians and its role as a petrostate.

She highlighted the need for the international community to use its influence to help free Armenian hostages and political prisoners held in Baku. “It is really up to the international community now to raise awareness about this and to speak out and do everything in their power to end their complicity and to demand freedom, justice, and the immediate release of all prisoners of war, hostages, and political prisoners in Azerbaijan.”

Greta’s words challenge global leaders to take action for justice.
