The upcoming episode of HBO’s The Franchise, a satirical comedy series, airing on Max this Sunday, November 17, 2024, will be set in Armenia and feature an Armenian actor, reports The Armenian Film Society (AFS).
Though filmed in the United Kingdom, the episode follows the fictional production of a superhero movie as it moves on location to Armenia, offering a comedic and satirical take on the challenges and chaos faced by a film crew. Viewers can also spot Armenian writing on the crew’s hats and shirts in the episode preview.
The episode’s storyline features an Armenian actor, a role for which the Armenian Film Society provided support to the casting team.
The official episode description reads: “On location in Armenia, Eric is pushed over the edge by an article blaming Maximum Studios for the sorry state of modern cinema. With Dan in charge, Dag relishes the chance to play First AD”¦ until a failed stunt leads to chaos.”
