Armenia and Iran reiterated that “No force can sever the land connection between Iran and Armenia,” and emphasized their opposition to “any unblocking based on the logic of an (extraterritorial) corridor,” during a meeting between Armenia’s Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan and Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani on Sunday, reports Iran’s Embassy in Armenia.
The Ambassador reiterated Iran’s position on the immutability of international borders, its opposition to any geopolitical changes, and its support for the territorial integrity of its neighbors.
Grigoryan thanked the Ambassador for Iran’s support of Armenia’s territorial integrity and its stance on the immutability of international borders.
Grigoryan emphasized, “The Armenia-Iran border is one of peace, friendship, and peaceful coexistence.”
He further stated that Armenia attaches special importance to its relations with Iran, stating, “No force can sever the land connection between Iran and Armenia.”
Grigoryan also stressed that any infrastructure unblocking within Armenian territory will remain under Armenia’s control and territorial sovereignty.
Bilateral relations and regional issues were also discussed during the meeting.
Grigoryan reiterated that “Armenia opposes any unblocking based on the logic of an (extraterritorial) corridor.”
