Today, Arman Tatoyan, Human Rights Defender, Ombudsman of Armenia called on the Armenian Authorities, stating that they are obliged to explain in detail what specific developments or solutions are planned in connection with the borders of our country after this war.
His post reads as follows:
The authorities are obliged to explain in detail what specific developments or solutions are planned in connection with the borders of our country after this war.
And they should not do that because they have to neutralize the consequences of the unexpected developments related to the security of our country or to alleviate the public anger over these unexpected developments.
We must finally realize that we are talking about the protection of our state, our people and the physical security and safety of each person.
It is not allowed to keep the society in uncertainty, to create alarming conditions for people and especially for the residents of the border villages and with all that to undermine the mental immunity, to keep people in constant tension.
These are the direct obligations of the state, the positive obligations towards each person.
