Earlier this week, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended opening of Tartar Olympic Sports Complex and made remarks about Armenia and Artsakh during the press debrief.
“Everyone sees that presumably most of the toponyms of the modern-day Armenia have Azerbaijani origin. I ask our academics to publish it so that everyone sees it. It can be a small brochure,” said Aliyev.
“As for the (Artsakh) conflict, there is only one way to resolve it, and that’s to restore the territorial integrity of our country. There is no other way. Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity. I recently said that we are gaining strength, we must be stronger and we will be. I have said that Karabakh is Azerbaijan and I want to repeat it again. Karabakh and its constituent Nagorno-Karabakh are Azerbaijan and exclamation mark. The whole Azerbaijani society and people support this position. It supports my policy, including my policy on this issue,” added Aliyev.
