Erdogan Threatens U.S. With Recognizing Genocide Of Native Americans.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey has threatened to recognize the mass killings of Native Americans during the colonial period as Genocide after the U.S. Senate recognized the Armenian Genocide on December 12.

“We should oppose you by reciprocating such decisions in parliament. And that is what we will do. Can we speak about America without mentioning Indians? It is a shameful moment in the US history,’ said Erdogan.

“We have opened more than a million documents on the events of 1915; come and study [them],”Erdogan said on A Haber TV. “We are talking about documents held in our hands. We must also take action against you by such decisions of our parliament; and we will. How can we keep silent about Native Americans when talking about America? This is a shameful chapter of the US.”

On December 12, 2019 The U.S. Senate passed S. Res 150 by unanimous consent recognizing the mass killings of 1.5 million Armenians in in 1915 by the Ottoman Empire as Genocide. Earlier, such a resolution was passed also by the U.S. House of Representatives.
