The Republic of Armenia has confirmed 47 new coronavirus cases and its 18th death, on Saturday, April 18, total cases now stand at 1,248, per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.

Out of the 1,248 total cases, 523 people recovered (121 Today) and 20 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 705 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.

A 75-year-old woman has died of the coronavirus, she suffered from pre-existing medical conditions such as severe double pneumonia, she also had a number of chronic diseases, such as hypertension of the 3rd degree, obesity of the II-III degree, atherosclerosis mainly of the brain and coronary arteries. Acute respiratory failure III degree, distress syndrome, sepsis, refractive septic shock developed during treatment, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.

To date, 11,796 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan.

Armenia has extended the state of emergency in the country by May 14 and restricted the movement of citizens.
