Iran’s Ambassador To Armenia Accuses Israel Of Being A Major Reason For Instability In The South Caucasus, Says Israeli Weapons Killed Armenian Soldiers In 2020 Artsakh War

NewsArmeniaIran's Ambassador To Armenia Accuses Israel Of Being A Major Reason For Instability In The South Caucasus, Says Israeli Weapons Killed Armenian Soldiers In 2020 Artsakh War

Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, has called Israel one of the main factors of instability in the South Caucasus, adding that it was Israeli weapons that killed Armenian soldiers during the 44-Day Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) War in 2020.

“The Zionist regime [Israel] is one of the main factors of instability in the South Caucasus, and that in the Second Karabakh (Artsakh) war [in 2020], Armenian soldiers were being killed by Israeli weapons,” said Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, during a press conference on Tuesday.

Iran’s Ambassador said, “Some European embassies in Yerevan are spreading on their Twitter pages, in Armenian and Persian, the one-sided and incorrect position of their countries’ leaders regarding Iran’s lawful response [to Israel].” “He added, “They want to subject the Armenian people to the influence of their false policy and discredit Iran in the Armenian public opinion. I advise them to stop this hypocrisy and not try to drag Armenia into their geopolitical conflicts.”

He added, “This [Israeli] regime, in addition to trying to develop militarism in the [South Caucasus] region, is also trying to create tension between Iran and the countries of the region.” According to him, if militancy develops somewhere, it increases the risk of clashes. “And the increase in the number of clashes leads to destabilization and threatens security. This affects the peoples of the [South Caucasus] region as well as Iran. It is obvious that the [Israeli] regime is trying to create tension between Iran and the countries of the region, as this regime is our enemy,” added Sobhani.

“It is impossible to ensure stability in the region through the policy of double standards. Your behavior and your illogical support for an evil regime make absolute evil commonplace. If you are looking for stability, be honest. Terrorism is not good or bad. This selective approach only encourages the adventurism of the Zionist regime and leads the region to war,” added the Ambassador.
