He said that criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident under clauses related to articles which refer to the intend of attempted murder motivated by hatred, intolerance or enmity motivated by racial, national, ethnic or social origin, religion, political or other views or other circumstances of a personal or social nature, and destroying or damaging another’s property for the same reasons. Gor Abrahamyan noted that there were no casualties.This is not the first case of targeting the airport. on August 17, when the airport was already ready to receive regular flights, shots were fired again.On August 17, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Syunik on a flight from Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan. At 04:24 on the night of August 18, from the Azerbaijani side, unknown individuals who approached the area adjacent to Syunik Airport in Kapan, Syunik Marz, on the Armenia-Azerbaijani border, fired three shots from the territory of Azerbaijan in the direction of Syunik Airport in Kapan and left. Armenia’s National Security Service announced that two of the bullets damaged one of the windows and the roof of the airport.
