This Friday morning, global football icon Lionel Messi spotlighted Armenia’s TUMO Center for Creative Technologies on his Instagram Story — sharing a screenshot of their profile and tagging @TUMOCenter to his 505 million followers, making it one of the most high-profile acknowledgments of TUMO to date, reports Zartonk Media.
The post comes 6 months after his brother, Rodrigo Messi, visited TUMO’s Yerevan headquarters during the WCIT 2024/DigiTec conference. Rodrigo — CEO of Lionel Messi Management and special advisor at Play Time Ventures — praised TUMO as a “catalyst for change,” applauding its free, world-class educational model that empowers teens in areas like robotics, animation, and coding.
Rodrigo was accompanied by Razmig Hovaghimian, the Armenian-American entrepreneur who founded Play Time, Messi’s main sports-tech investment vehicle.
At the end of the October 2024 visit, Rodrigo gifted TUMO an autographed Argentina national team jersey signed by Lionel Messi himself — and now, six months later, the legend is showing love right back.
A proud moment for Armenia. A global spotlight on one of the country’s most inspiring institutions.
