Today, on December 16, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with French General Fabien Mandon, the Military Adviser and Chief of the Military Staff to the President of France, in Paris as part of Papikyan’s working visit to France, reports Armenia’s Defense Ministry (MoD).
The comprehensive discussions focused on Armenia-France defense cooperation, encompassing military education, training programs, advisory support, and military-technical issues.
The Armenian Ambassador to France, Arman Khachatryan, also participated in the meeting.
Additionally, regional and international security issues were addressed, with both sides exchanging views and approaches on these matters.
Earlier this month, on December 10, Chief of the Defense Policy Department of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Levon Ayvazyan, and Alexander Escorsia, Director for Euro-Atlantic Security at the French Ministry for the Armed Forces, signed the 2025 defense cooperation program between the two countries.
The new 2025 program entails “several dozen measures in almost all spheres of the armed forces.”
