TUMO Labs, a leading tech and engineering hub for students aged 18 and older, and a key component of the EU TUMO Convergence Center, has launched an ambitious year-long cybersecurity initiative. The project, titled “Building Skills and Careers in Cybersecurity for Young Armenians,” aims to equip young Armenians with the critical skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to address Armenia’s cybersecurity challenges.

This initiative is implemented in partnership with the Information Systems Agency of Armenia (ISAA), co-funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and ISAA, and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as part of the Partnership for Strengthening Cybersecurity project.

Key Components of the Initiative:

  1. Content Development: TUMO Labs will develop accessible self-learning modules on cybersecurity for their Guided Self-Learning program. These modules, ranging from basic to advanced levels, will be developed with input from industry experts and the TUMO Labs network.
  2. Cybersecurity Sprints: Participants will engage in two intensive four-week sprints, tackling real-world cybersecurity challenges. Mentored by industry professionals, they will showcase their solutions in a final pitch event, with top-performing teams eligible for initial funding.
  3. 42 Yerevan Coding Bootcamp: A dedicated bootcamp will provide Main Curriculum graduates of 42 Yerevan with career-focused expertise in cybersecurity.
  4. Project-Based Learning: Participants will undertake projects related to cybersecurity, gaining real-world experience. This component will also allow students who have completed the Guided Self-Learning course in cybersecurity to apply their knowledge in practical settings.

This initiative underscores TUMO Labs’ dedication to delivering free, high-quality education to individuals aged 18 and over. “Building Skills and Careers in Cybersecurity for Young Armenians” represents a pivotal step in strengthening Armenia’s digital resilience, empowering young Armenians to fill critical roles in the digital economy and addressing the global demand for cybersecurity talent.
