Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance and Trump campaign supporter Vivek Ramaswamy tweeted statements aligning with U.S. Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s condemnation of the persecution and displacement of Armenian Christians in Artsakh.
JD Vance tweeted: “The United States should fight against the persecution of Christians all over the world, and it will when President Trump is back in the White House. Kamala Harris has done nothing.”
Vivek Ramaswamy tweeted: “Very gratified to see President Trump speak out about the persecution & displacement of Armenian Christians in Artsakh. It’s our job to call out the hypocrisy of the foreign policy establishment & we refuse to simply sweep this issue under the rug.”
Earlier today, Donald Trump issued a strong statement condemning the ethnic cleansing of Armenians from Artsakh. This statement comes one month after the Harris-Waltz candidacy issued a pro-Armenian statement emphasizing the Armenians’ right to return to their native homeland of Artsakh.
Despite the pro-Armenian statements from both candidates, the 44-Day War initiated by Azerbaijan occurred under the Trump administration, and the subsequent blockade and ethnic cleansing of Artsakh’s Armenians unfolded during the Biden-Harris administration.
