Armenia’s Malkhas Amoyan (77 kg) defeated Finland’s Jonni Kunnari Sarkkinen 8-0 in the round of 16 of the Men’s Greco-Roman wrestling competition, advancing to the quarter-finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Amoyan is on his quest for Olympic glory at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, aiming to make his mark just like his compatriot Artur Aleksanyan.
The 25-year-old is a World Champion (2021, Oslo) and a three-time European Champion (2022, Budapest; 2024, Bucharest). He has also won silver medals at the European Wrestling Championships (2021, Warsaw) and the Individual Wrestling World Cup (2020, Belgrade). Additionally, he earned bronze medals at the World Wrestling Championships in consecutive years (2022, 2023, both in Belgrade).
He has already showcased his talent on the world stage, and this victory brings him closer to adding an Olympic medal to his achievements.
Let’s cheer on our rising star as he continues his journey in Paris!
