Armenian wrestling legend Levon Julfalakyan is set to become the first Armenian inducted into the United World Wrestling Hall of Fame, recognized for his exceptional contributions and remarkable achievements in wrestling as both an athlete and a coach.
He will also be the first individual from the Republic of Armenia to earn this distinguished honor.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for August 5 in Paris, France, as reported by his son, Arsen Julfalakyan, a wrestler himself.
Levon Julfalakyan, an esteemed former Soviet Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler, has earned accolades as an Olympic, World, and European Champion. He was honored as a Master of Sports of the USSR in 1988. Presently, Julfalakyan serves as the head coach of the Armenian national Greco-Roman wrestling team and holds the presidency of the Union of Armenian Olympians. He is also a member of the executive committee of the NOC.
