The French municipality of Evian-les-Bains (Évian city) decided to remove all inscriptions mentioning the “Park of Azerbaijan” within its city.
The “Park of Azerbaijan” opened in 2017 as part of a cooperation agreement Évian city signed with the Azerbaijani city of Ismayilli in 2015.
On December 18, Evian’s Opposition representatives demanded the municipal council officially remove all inscriptions mentioning “Park of Azerbaijan” in the city.
Their demand was motivated by Azerbaijan’s military attack and invasion of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in September 2023 and the fact that Azerbaijan is ruled by a Dictator in, Ilham Aliyev.
Évian’s Mayor, Josiane Lei, said all mentions of the “Park of Azerbaijan” have already been removed.
