Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, stated that Russia is consistently discussing with the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides the options for resolving the situation around the Lachin Corridor.
“The Russian side consistently continues to work with both Baku and Yerevan. We will do it in the future as well. Very recently, by the way, the first batch of humanitarian cargo arrived in Artsakh, thanks to the efforts of the Russian side. We will continue the work. Now various options are being discussed and developed with the parties,” he said, commenting on the statement of the US State Department that the Lachin Corridor should be opened immediately.
Earlier, the State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated in a briefing that the US wants the Lachin Corridor to be opened immediately. He added that this is necessary so that “it is possible to take measures under the conditions of a really difficult humanitarian situation”.
