Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk stated during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok that the negotiations of the tripartite working group on the unblocking of transport links in Transcaucasia are continuing, but the escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan has a negative impact on the solution of the issue of unblocking transport links in Transcaucasia.
“Of course, any escalation always has a negative impact on our work, it constrains, delays and it takes time before we come back, sit down and start working. The negotiations have not been suspended, they are continuing,” he said.
According to Overchuk, the next meeting of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on the unblocking of transportation links in the region will take place when the conditions are ripe for it.
According to the results of the last meeting of the working group, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia recorded significant progress in reaching an agreement on the unblocking of transport communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
