DEVELOPING STORY: At approximately 4:00am this morning, the building adjacent to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church was set ablaze by arsonists, announced the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church Facebook page.
The building housed the Vasbouragan Hall, as well as offices for the St. Gregory Armenian Church and various community organizations. The San Francisco Fire Department responded immediately, however the building has suffered great damages.
Zartonk Media’s sources in San Francisco report that all the windows of the building are broken as three or four fires were set in the hall. Severe damage to the entrance was also reported in addition to important documents and mementos lost.
The Church Board of Trustees and community leaders are on the site assessing the damage and working closely with the San Francisco Fire and Police Department in their investigation.
