BREAKING NEWS: Vice Speaker Alen Simonyan Gets Into Brawl With Activist Artur Danielyan On The Streets Of Yerevan.

Alen Simonyan, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia and Artur Danielyan, Adekvad Union member got into a brawl on the streets of Yerevan when a verbal quarrel escalated into a fight.

Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan, co-founder of the Adekvad political party, posted a photo of Artur Danielyan, another co-founder of Adekvad, and wrote the following: “Alen Simonyan attacked Artur Danielyan, who was walking on the street.”

MP Arman Babajanyan notified the local police about the incident, per the press service of the Police Armenia. Babajanyan then went onto his Facebook page and said that Simonyan was the one attacked. ‘’We all need to sober up, this cannot be continued. I had a phone conversation with Alen. I informed Police Chief Arman Sargsyan about the incident’’, Babajanyan wrote, per News.Am.

Alen Simonyan informed that he was walking on the street when Danielyan and two other members of Adekvad approached him and began using sexual blasphemy, after which we started beating each other up, I probably damaged his nose, my nose was damaged a little as well, but I’m fine,” he said, adding that the two people accompanying Danielyan had tried to stop them from beating each other up, per Alen Simonyan via Azatutyun.

Hasmik Hakobyan, sssistant to Alen Simonyan said that: “In response to the many letters and phone calls, I would like to inform that Alen Simonyan is currently undergoing a medical checkup. He feels dizzy and has nausea.”

Artur Danielyan has reported the incident as a crime to the Prosecutor General of Armenia to deprive Alen Simonyan of parliamentary immunity. Danielyan’s attorney Tigran Atanesyan told reporters that he informed that there hasn’t been any criminal case instituted in relation to the fight between Artur Danielyan and Alen Simonyan yet. “Mr. Danielyan was taken to the central police station and was transferred to Erebuni Medical Center. At this moment, Mr. Danielyan is going home. He has filed a report against the deputy parliamentary speaker. We hope for an objective investigation and that the Prosecutor General demands depriving Mr. Simonyan from parliamentary immunity,” he said.
