The Republic of Armenia has confirmed 44 new coronavirus cases and its 14th death, on Wednesday, April 15, total cases now stand at 1,111, per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.

Out of the 1,111 total cases, 297 people recovered (32 Today) and 17 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 797 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. To date, 9,095 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan.

A 66-year-old women has died of the coronavirus at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan, she suffered from pre-existing medical conditions such as bilateral severe pneumonia, she also had chronic diseases, such as ischemic heart disease, which caused thromboembolism of the upper mesenteric arteries. Lower limb amputation was performed, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.

Armenia has extended the state of emergency in the country by May 14 and restricted the movement of citizens.
