DiasporaAmericasAlex Eskandari Becomes First Armenian-American To Compete In NASCAR Event.

21-year-old race car driver Alex Eskandari has become the first Armenian-American to compete in a NASCAR sanctioned event, and gave an exclusive interview to Zartonk Media about the experience.

“I have been blessed to have this opportunity from my Kyle Keller Racing team as well as my sponsors 1st Vegas Auto Body, Ace Towing, Enclave & Key, and Sandstone Electric for making all this hard work come to fruition. Being the first Armenian American to compete in a NASCAR Sanctioned event has been one of the things I will cherish forever.”

“My goal moving forward is to give my KKR (Kyle Keller Racing) team the maximum performance out of my #5 car for the last 3 races of the championship. My next pro late model race is on September 4th and I’m looking to put another solid finish together. After the season’s end my sponsorship dollars are limited and I will be eager to work with future sponsors to help my brand grow and eventually move up through the NASCAR ladder,” told Zartonk Media.

The 21 year old Armenian who grew up in LA, competed in the NASCAR Sigma Performance Services Pro Late Model Series at the Bullring on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He drove the #5 car for John Keller of Keller Motorsports at the “Night of Fire” event, which is held annually on the 4th of July weekend. Eskandari was born and raised in Las Vegas and is a very proud Armenian as he stated in his conversation with Zartonk Media.

Two of Eskandari’s sponsors, 1st Vegas Auto Body and Sandstone Electric are Armenian small businesses in Las Vegas.

Eskandari has been in love with automobiles since he was a child. At the age of 9, he first tried go-karting and loved it, so he began racing at local kart tracks in Vegas and growing a network in the racing industry. His competitive racing experience consists of a Jr. Late Model race at The bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in April 2019, and 8 Legend Car Series races at SPEED VEGAS in the winter of 2020 and spring of 2021.
