Today, Artak Beglaryan, Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender wrote in his Facebook page that his office was already able to single out almost 60 prisoners of war from the videos found by his staff and are working on identifying 40 civilians who were kidnapped whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
His post reads as follows:
“We are constantly updating our lists of prisoners day and night, based on published videos and other evidence provided by relatives. We have already been able to single out almost 60 prisoners of war from the videos found by the ombudsman’s staff, of which only a small part has not yet been identified. I do not mention the data collected on the basis of testimonies, calls or other evidence.
We carry out separate fact-finding activities on about 40 detained and forcibly disappeared civilians.
We regularly transfer all the collected data to state and international authorities, expecting effective work to protect the rights and return of prisoners. We have special cooperation with the RA Human Rights Defender and individual lawyers in the issue of data exchange and other relevant processes.”
