Some 300 Armenian families in Syria have received money from our government as part of an aid program aiming to provide financial support to our needy compatriots, the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson said today, adding that an estimate $100 were sent to each family from their regular budgetary savings.
Speaking at a press briefing, Anna Naghdalyan also unveiled plans for providing assistance to 4,750 more families.
She further addressed the travel restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic. Naghdalyan said that the bans on foreign citizens’ entry and the land border restrictions remain in place. She added that no bans currently apply to Armenian citizens unless otherwise provided by the quarantine rules effective in the countries of destination.
